Since 2013, New Jersey’s drivers, providers and auto insurers have been operating under the current PIP Medical Fee Schedule (PIP MFS). Claims management, reimbursement mechanisms, arbitrations, and legal challenges all have been subject to and a product of a stagnated system. That is all about to change!
Faced with the challenge of keeping auto insurance affordable for policyholders, reimbursing providers with adequate and fair fees for services, and rooting out fraud and overutilization that drives up costs, the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance has issued an Advance Notice for Rulemaking for the PIP Medical Fee Schedule. Our panel of experts will discuss the proposed revisions to the PIP MFS, the methodology employed by Fair Health, the possibility of legal challenges to the PIP MFS like the ones filed in 2012, and the overall impact of significantly adding over 6,000 codes to the schedule.
Please join us for a deep dive into the proposal with experts from both insurers and claims managers and learn about the impact and importance of the proposed revisions.
